about this track:
My writing style has typically leaned towards the "humourous" side, as I was greatly influenced by the likes of The Dead Milkmen and Robyn Hitchcock. This was my attempt at writing a "love" song for my then-girlfriend (now-wife). It was played out live twice in the middle to later 90s (one of those performances being our wedding reception). When Dave brought up this project, I knew exactly which song I wanted to record, so I recorded it in my basement. Eventually, Dave and his brother, Josh, lended their musical talents to help flesh out the song. It was a great learning experience in home recording, but, mostly, I was ecstatic to be part of Dave's great project and to finally have this song that I wrote for my wife so many years ago completed.
lyrics
lyrics:
Sweet sounds drip into my ears
As soft as polyester
I reply trying to be smooth
Like the head of Uncle Fester
I smile and I wink
As I whisper in your ear
Then you laugh uncontrollably
As you tell me that I'm queer
Then we begin to swim
In a vampire's embrace
And we leave this world
Without leaving a trace
